Health Steward Privacy Policy

This policy applies to the Health Steward Android app and web app. Health Steward is published by Ownward Soft. For privacy questions, contact [email protected].

Data you enter

Health Steward stores the information you provide to use its training features:

• Training setup, including preferred days, workout duration, training experience, equipment, available weights, goals, and exercises you choose to omit.
• Preferences, including language and measurement units.
• Workout plans and history, including exercises, sets, repetitions, weights, assistance, duration, distance, dates, times, and notes.
• Feedback about workouts, including skipped or substituted exercises, pain-related responses, and changes to planned targets.

The app also stores the workout recommendations and progression decisions it calculates from this information. Notes and pain-related responses may reveal sensitive health information, so please enter only what you want kept on your device.

How the app uses your data

Health Steward uses this data on your device to display your workout history, prepare workouts, and apply its training rules. It does not require an account or send workout data to a Health Steward server. The app has no advertising or analytics service, and we do not sell your workout data.

Local storage and Android backup

On Android, Health Steward stores app data in its private local database. On the web, it stores app data in your browser's local site storage. The web app does not synchronize that data between browsers or devices.

Android system backup is enabled for the app. Depending on your device and backup settings, Android may back up app data to your Google account or move it to another device. Google handles those backups under its own policies; Health Steward does not receive or control the backup copy.

Network access and other services

Logging and training recommendations work without an account or app-run cloud service. Loading the web app, opening this policy, or following an external link makes a network request to the site you visit. The host serving this policy page may receive ordinary request information such as your IP address and browser details. Google Play and Android handle app delivery and system backup under their own policies. Health Steward does not use your contacts, camera, microphone, location, or Health Connect data.

Security, retention, and deletion

Android isolates the local database in app-private storage; web app data is kept in your browser profile. Health Steward does not add a separate encryption layer to these local stores. Protect your device and browser profile with the security features they offer.

Saved setup and completed workout history remain locally until you clear Health Steward's storage or uninstall the Android app, or clear the web app's site data in your browser. Draft plans may be replaced or deleted as you use the app. There is no in-app delete-all control. Uninstalling or clearing app data may not remove an Android system backup; manage backup copies through your Google account and device settings. Health Steward has no account or server-side workout history for us to delete.

If you email us, we receive your address and message and use them to answer your inquiry. We keep that correspondence only as needed to handle the request or meet a legal obligation. You may ask us to delete it using the contact above.

Changes to this policy

We will update this page and its date when Health Steward's data practices change. Please review it when you update the app.
